Re: [TCML] Magnifier topics
To get into action mode, I propose the following.
A couple of years ago, I built this coil, the T-BRISG, which was a
Triggered SISG based on a single CM600 Brick.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK17-CoB7LE
It performed surprisingly well, with 1.5 meters discharge.
I still have all the parts, as well as another controller that enables
forced quenching.
I think it would be a good idea to reconfigure it into a magnifier,
along Antonio´s lines, to test which benefits can be harvested by that
topology.
I also think that by using the tank as it is, and the topload, we would
get the most realistic comparison, because the coil would have the same
interfaces to the surroundings.
Then L2, C2 and L3 has to follow from this.
I would like to wind these 2 coils, and construct C2 as a MMC, and
document the build, tuning, measurements and all.
I am not able to follow the math in Antonio´s papers, and I suspect that
the lack of popularity these papers have, is in part due to this :
perhaps not many others do.
So I require the assistance of you, Antonio, to describe the steps it
takes to get from this tank:
C1: 15.51µF (measured)
L1: 859.1µH (calculated)
Fres: 43.6kHz (measured)
to this Torus:
C3: 40.38pF (calculated)
D: 600mm (measured)
d: 170mm (measured)
If there are many
If this is possible, desirable or worthwhile, let´s do it together,
online. This could become a great breaktrough for the *Mighty Magnifier*
Cheers, Finn Hammer
