Kewl. I'm 56 and retired 5 years ago. I tried two different things, but they weren't right. I can't believe I never considered becoming a licensed electrician. I already hold two State licences, so like you said, just a little work and a test or two. I've owned an NEC since the early 90s, and I'm NFPA 70E qualified.

I am having to go through a 5 year apprenticeship program, including school two nights a week, to obtain my full journeyman license, but even in my mid-50’s, I am actually getting to engage in my passion on a professional level and loving it! Considering my previous three to four decades of personal amateur interest in high voltage, I kind of have an inside advantage on the schooling! ;-)
