[TCML] Heathkit IM-5210 HV Probe

I bought a Heathkit IM-5210 HV Probe today at a ham fest. No manual...

I have not taken it apart (yet) nor tested it.

Question:
It has an ON/OFF switch which implies it might have a battery inside.
Otherwise, why a switch?

Anybody know or, better yet, anybody have a PDF of the manual?

BOTTOM LINE:
AL will reduce the "Q Factor" (Xs / Rs) by the ratio of 40.81/67.0, or
0.609. This is a 39% decrease in Q. This leads to a 39% decrease in peak
voltage."

Only true for the case where there is no streamer loading - suspect
the difference in performance would be negligible. I'll bet that few coils
are really limited by secondary resistance because the loaded Q is so much
less than the unloaded Q.

Comments from those who have made measurements?

Ed
