The telecommunications industry used it in the UK once (when copper was dear in the 70's & 80's) and it was the biggest mistake ever. You can not join it easily nor solder it easily either (easy as compared to copper). And it does not like moisture (thinking garage / shed), as it corrodes away to a white powder over time.
