Re: [TCML] Secondary Troubles

Phil:

When you install your baffles, use approx 1/4" (thick) bead of silicon all
around which helps seal against electrical arc over internally.

I use a 1-20NC or 3/8-16NC brass stud (cutoff brass bolt or brass threaded
rod) for the lower part. This screws into a small 1/2 inch thick brass
plate located on the underside of the upper wood plate. This allows
screw-in operation of your sec coil as the brass plate has a #6 AWG ground
wire permanently attached to the brass plate with a fastener. You just
screw in your sec coil for fast set up and teardown. The internal brass
head, where it connects with the lower sec wire, is covered with 3 thick
coats (separate thin coats) of G.E. Silicone II (clear) to provide
additional insulation in areas where sharp edges and corona may form.
