Of course a real man would only use a single microwave oven and nothing else to make a complete Tesla coil including tank cap, spark gap primary and secondary. Of course using the MO's normal timer as well.

Subject: [TCML] MOT supply

hi all,

i've recently acuired a small MOT from a 800W microwave, and
was wondering how i can get the highest voltage out of it as
posible for my 1 3/4" TC.
I've got a pair of microwave caps and diodes for a voltage
doubler, but one cap is .94uf, and the other is 1.15uf. will
it matter if they are different when hooked up in a WC
multiplier? also, how can i make a charging choke for the
multiplier (i used all the 240v transformers i had on my
1.2Kw mot but it still didnt work), and will i need a high
value resistor in series with the output so the 5 or so
joules in the multiplier won't discharge through the TC's
spark gap or will the choke take care of this problem? BTW,
current draw from this coil won't be much because it's so
small (won't need to rev it up to the full 800w unless i
want to see sparks/molten metal fly ;-)

merry xmas and safe coil'n to all...
