Its a while since I looked for such software. At that time the best
available was http://www.cygnus-software.com/index.html
It has very deep zooms with display routines that allow you to create a
movie of the zooming that are not huge files.
Unfortunately you have to buy it for the full version.
There was various shareware/free programs available but they were not even
close to the abilities of the above.
