string lots of 1200PIV diodes (1N400X series -at- less than 10 cents each) in
series. For 15 kV, I'd use 20 or so. (24 kV PIV, but you want massive
overdesign for this kind of application, in case one fails). It is
preferable to get them all from the same lot, and also to select them for
reverse current matching. (i.e. buy a hundred of them and sort through to
get the 20 you want)
Or, string some 6 kV diodes from All Electronics (-at- .50 each), it takes
fewer and the package is smaller.
