You could string diodes found in microwave ovens from the tip.

Data of HVR-1X-3, a common type:
Repetitive Peak Reverse Voltage 12 kV
Average forward current max 500 mA
Maximum forward voltage drop 11 V
Maximum reverse current 0.3 ľA
Maximum surge current 30 A

Please watch out: HV can be lethal.
