<snip> > tuned to an awkwardly low frequency > Ed Phillips </snip> Hopefully this does not dive too deep in verboten material for the TCML... The low frequency was the goal of Tesla's theory. He believed in using resonance, and predicted (pretty closely) Earth's electrical frequency, and wanted to use his system on that frequency to make his brand of wireless work. However, to OP's point, that 142ft mast, and the capacitance Tesla used, was not for wireless transmission, it was just a simple stand alone experiment. He used a 30" sphere (IIRC) and measured/calculated the frequency of the tank circuit. Then he raised the sphere a little bit, re-tuned, and determined the frequency. He continued that until he was at the top of the 142ft mast. Everything he was doing at Colorado Springs was gearing up to defeat Marconi's simple patent stealing radio technology and setting the world on fire with his full working global radio and power system at Wardenclyffe. If I could change the past, would it be better to have allowed Tesla to see Wardenclyffe through so we could all know once and for all if the Maestro had a few secret tricks up his sleeve? Or is it better to let the mystery live, and allow humanity speculate and let Tesla's mystic linger? THAT IS THE QUESTION! Thanks for listening, ~Dan (still a believer in Tesla miracles) Kansas City area _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla
