Hello, As we all (should) know, when the spark gap fires energy can transfer from the primary to secondary coil, and vice versa, which is why first notch quenching is important. However, how does that concept transfer over to solid state coils? I am no expert here, and I realize there are quite a few variations and styles of solid state drivers...but I believe the most highly developed version is the H bridge DRSSTC, correct? And they have a free wheeling diode, which serves to prevent damage to the MOSFET/IGBT, but does it also keep energy trapped on the secondary side as well? Else how is energy trapped in the secondary? Thanks, ~Dan (still a lover a spark gaps) Kansas City area _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla
