How fast does your motor spin Brian? IF you can get your BPS range of the spark gap in the 700+ ish range, you should be able to run ASYNC on an NST. You just need to use a really tiny tank cap to compensate. Really tiny... Like 1/10 of resonate cap value... Don't let it drop anywhere below say 500 though, or you risk seriously killing your NST. Try at your own risk of course, but I'm pretty sure its been done before (pretty sure, but not positive...) Scott Bogard.
