Are you familiar with E. P. Thomson's "Roentgen Rays and the Phenomena of
the Anode and Cathode"?
Unfortunately it doesn't contain any images made with the Tesla
cathode-only tube (though it has a VERY clear X-ray image made by
Schallenberger using a "focus tube" and a Tesla coil) but it contains many
clear descriptions of the experiments and apparatus.
