Jay,

Some ignition cables have a resistor core to suppress ignition system 
generated noise.

A while ago, one eBay seller was offering beautiful material at the 
giveaway price of 10 cents a foot.  Regrettably, it had a resistance of 
5K ohms per foot.  Not much good for TC use.
