RE: [TCML] MOT wire question
Hi Jon,
I'll try that next time I snag some MO's. I have had to split the cores in
the past to remove the damn filament wires; though they can be very useful;
but in those cases the cores were repurposed. Have a great, big-sparky, and
safe 4th of July to our US members and all others that join us just because
it's a great excuse to fire em up. We celebrate with you and Tesla would
like the transcontinental use, me thinks!

I've never had any trouble removing them from any MOT core. The trick is to
nip the end hardware (usually spade females), then tug on the other side of
the wire end with a pair of long nosed pliers.
Once you pull it through, you continue the process, which becomes easier as
more wire is removed. I've never seen any damage resulting from this
procedure.
