You can do that when you put a CD next to a TC. You get a shower of tiny aluminium flakes. While it works well at multi kW level but I have observed it even with my mini TC.

....... What would happen if instead of a string of nails, an air hose were used to blow little puffs of metallic dust into the air?near the torroid of an operating coil? Of course, it might ignite the cloud, but that would be spectacular too! ;^))
