Re: [TCML] gold secondary
Bill -
I think Gary's post was directed to DC Cox, asking for specific data that
would support DC's implied assertion that silver plated wire provides some
tangible performance benefit over standard copper magnet wire.
(If I have misinterpreted Gary's post, I'm sure I will be quickly
corrected.)
From the outset, Simon's quest for gold-plated wire was simply for something
that "looked different".

I guess the OP should answer for him/herself, but it seems to me this might
well be a matter of aesthetics as you point out. The same reason some of us
wash and wax our cars.

I meant to include in my post -
At the risk of appearing argumentative, if folks are going to suggest that
using expensive or exotic components provide superior performance over
garden-variety materials, I'm going to ask for supporting data. In fact,
this whole gold plated wire thread has been heavy on HOW and
uncharacteristically light on the WHY. I can understand the aesthetic
appeal of gold plated components, but like the criminally overpriced
Monster audio cables, there doesn't appear to be any functional reasons
behind this.
