RE: [TCML] Tube question- Biasing, audio frequency response
Hello Fellowship,
Addendum to my last post, we would want to bias the 833a to produce a sine
wave on the fringes of the family of curves if we are to play music in the
plasma to prevent clipping. BTW, what is the lowest frequency a music driven
coil can produce? The sound would be cool if it was reinforced with a Mid to
subwoofer component, but this seems like cheating though. I wonder what a
pipe organ MP3 would sound like.

Any ideas how to play low frequency with a VTTC or other type coil's plasma?

Back in high school, some 40 years ago we were still being taught tube
theory and would plot our own curves on vacuum tubes, and then design a
circuit
around that. Just don't ask me how now because that was a looooong time
ago,
but it wasn't that hard using a variable voltage source and a couple of
meters.

FB OM! That's the way I remember it, when I worked in our high school
station (W2CLE) 50 years ago this week. But going back on my notes to
2000, I could not find a single reference to design parameters/theory
in
any of the VTTC threads. A lot of it seems to be cut and try or just
copy
with far less attention given to how and why than is given to a spark
gap.
