RE: [TCML] TC Newbie
Hey Matt I use just a piece of thick wire running out my window because I dont have any nearby plumbing,So I just made my own.(The wire can be long if you like)Ground only your secondary at the bottom(This is potential difference of -0 of your coil) Your primary will not be grounded but if you have a Strike rail above your primary, Ground that only.Give us a shout if you need anything else! Success! I've managed to get hold of an OBIT that delivers 2x 7.5kv for
about £20.
I have one other question - I was planning to display this in college,
however I'm worried about grounding. I've read that the coil shouldn't be
grounded to the main ground for fear of serious household damage. A) does
this apply to both primary and secondary coils, or just the secondary? B)
considering that I may not be displaying this on the ground floor of the
building, does anyone have a suggestion for a suitable ground? Your help is
once again very much appreciated,
Many thanks,
-Matt
