   Matches my recollection of similar (the same?) source.
   Might be available on 'google books'?

   Commonly '1/4 wave over ground plane' for VHF, CB, etc, use
   4 radials for the 'ground'.

   (Of course: coiling 'good' may vary a bit from
   'radio comm good', but its a place to start....)
