dont make the press over a thou or two. the g10 will split. a .001 press
will be ok i think. g10 will tap pretty good. might want to go at the holes
at an angle instead of directly over the top of it. might also consider
grinding a small flat or even a ring aroung the tungsten althought that
ain't gonna be easy. as for making it round, i would say rough it out on a
band saw and drill your hole pattern in the middle you intend to use. make
up something that matches that pattern that will chuck in a lathe and go to
town a little at a time. Where i work I would rough it on the cnc mill and
then true it up on the lathe. g10 is not fun to machine. it is messy and it
stinks. i would leave as much as I could on the edge. I would think at the
very min. 1/2". that might be pushing it. lotta mass there.. I sure would
like to have some of that tungsten you are talking about...Chip..
