Hi Mike,
As Gary mentioned, you'll need to insulate the two primary's. Given
your supports are already drilled and cut, maybe you could add a
channel on each side of the supports between the two layers so that
acrylic (or some insulator) plate could be cut to size and slid into
place in the channels (and glued).
