You could also rebuild your primary as a double-layer coil, and end up with
the additional inductance you want, plus achieve a more compact system
overall. The double-layer primary geometry was recently discussed on this list.
I did not see where you posted the details of the power supply for this
coil. and could find nothing on your website. However, for your 12.5" dia X
60" tall secondary the .02uf tank cap and particularly the 6" X 28" toroid
are disproportionally small ........ is there any reason that you are
"stuck" with using these components? Increasing the value of the tank cap
and/or increasing the size of the topload will cure your primary inductance
problems and almost assuredly provide better coil performance.
