Yes. No contact was made. I burned 2 inches vigorously up wind from copious
black smoke. This is not how PCB normally acts is it?

I didn't suggest burning the stuff...lol....in normal service that
won't happen....and just don't stick your hands into the oil for
extended periods of time....get some heavy duty playtex nitrile
gloves if you are going to work with it....but then you have to
dispose of them in some manner when done, so plan ahead....get it all
done in one shot....seal the tank and make big sparks..

Hello,

PCB's are quite inert, this is correct. However
heating/burning/oxidation (like burning something contaminated with
PCBs) will result in the formation of benzodioxines ("dioxine") and
dibenzofurans. These compounds trigger chloracne, a severe skin

He apparently was poisoned with 1 mg of dioxine.
