Re: EXTENDING CREDIT: an Unscrupulous Buyer - Be Forewarned:

It is my opinion that the buyer must be the trusting individual. Most
businesses will want payment before shipment. I see nothing different
here. Terry is correct that dollar amount does make a difference.
Small low cost items are one thing. But when the item or dollar
amount (different for everyone) is significant, then purchasing
protocol should be procedure.
Also, when I bought Marks SISG boards, I sent a cashiers check and
insured the shipment (double the check amount [grin]) just incase the
envelope was lost. Always insure money sent through a carrier (important).
Take care,
Bart

Ultimately, one person has to be the 'trusting' individual. I
believe that almost everyone on this list could be trusted(with one
exception, I guess lol). Personally, I'd have already mentioned
this list member's name if I were out $900 - just to warn others to
not get burned. I've only purchased something from one list member
a few years ago and it worked out well. I don't remember now, but
I think I was the trusting one and I sure got my $$ worth.
