Re: MOT Stack Construction

I would float the cores, connect the "middle" mots with spade
connectors via the spade that is usually on top. Then, connect the
wires that you took off the core of the first two, and solder them to
the core wires on the other MOTs. You may have to lengthen
them. Also, I would highly recommend putting them under oil. You
will never have problems with a four stack, and with my six stack it
suppresses it well. I had to embed the core wires in wax, works well.

Subject: MOT Stack Construction
Original poster: "Daniel Seidel" <dfseidel@xxxxxxx>
I am planning to make a 4 mot stack. It will be fed with 240v
with two mots per leg. What is the best way to connect the
secondaries that were originally attached to the core (ie
crimp/solder a spade connector or what) Also what is a good gauge
to use for attaching the primaries and secondaries? Thanks!
(this may get sent multiple times to the list, if so let me
appologize in advance)
