Just a couple of weeks ago there were several posts on this subject. Several people reported good success soldering the ends together. One method in particular recommended that you clean both ends very well and file or sand each end at a 45 degree angle and put them together and wick solder the joint. If you wipe the joint with a wet rag while it is still hot, you should get a very clean smooth joint. Then insulate the joint well with your glyptol and wind on. Never, never put holes in your secondary form or put any wires inside the secondary!!! I'm sure some of the kind people with actual experience splicing small gauge wires will post you some advice. If not, I hope this helps. Good luck.
