A ruler for size scale in the photo would have been a help, but you can get
a decent idea of the current rating of the variac just by checking the
fuse. It should be able to supply nearly the current rating of the fuse
without difficulty.
As far as the voltage, it should be able to do 110, judging from its size
and shape. whether it would be good for 220 is hard to tell without seeing
the core and windings. It looks too big and too old to be one of the
useless 400 Hz mil surplus variacs.
