Re: deceptive transformer

New 1000watt *microwaves* are $80 new - my "new" microwave with built-in
defrost and popcorn presets ran $110 last summer....
A new 10A 120V variable transformer starts at about $150, and a new 1256D
runs over $900 from Newark....
People will buy just about anything if presented with enough fluff and
flare and/or novelty. As crummy as it may seem to a "well knowing
bystander," it's just commercialism at its finest.
