nifty new pole mount transformers
Original poster: "Crow Leader by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <presence-at-churchofinformationwarfare-dot-org>
"Where do I get a pole mount transformer?" seems to come up every now and
then, as well as the chatter about how the rewinding shops are scared to
sell transfomers (Is that not what they are in business for?), as well as
everybody being terrified of PCBs.
If you are seriously looking for such an item and live in the USA, and would
really buy one if you could, please send me a message by Feb 1, with the
zipcode of commercial address or business where you'd like a fantasy
transformer delivered to. Your house is not commercial and you will have to
pay extra fees to the motor carrier (probably Yellow or Roadway) to have it
dropped off there. You can also pick it up from their nearest freight
terminal at no charge.
If you are just curious, wait until after Feb, 1 so I can list what the cost
is for everybody else. The more people interested, the lower the price
shipping aside.
Here are the specs:
- Manufactured by Cooper Industries
- 14.4kV 125kV BIL primary
- 120/240 secondary
- 200 pounds, about 210 on the skid which is about 22" x 23"
- the tank is 12" diameter about 27" tall to the dome of the cover.
- primary insulators are 11" tall
- all new, mineral oil filled, no PCBs

two people can lift it off a 4' truck bed with no problems. It's full of oil
so you must store and move it upright. The terminals are not handles.
Quotes are not binding in any way. If the prices are acceptable, things can
be formalized and you can place your order. I'll know lead times after Feb
1.
