My new tesla coil design looks like this:

Secondary: 1900 to 2150 turns of #27 magnet wire (estimated)....wound on a 
35.5" tall, 8" wide PVC pipe.

Cap: ~80 nF 65 kVDC homebuilt stacked Poly plastic bucket cap.

Primary: haven't had time to build it yet

Powerplant: (4) 120V rated MOT's in series running 240V
input, ballasted by an AC arc welder.....so far 16 kV / 450 mA can be 
outputted on MAX power setting.

Topload: 12" "steel hot air duct" toriod
