My guess is that the best way to construct a flat spiral TC is to use a
single ended NST or OBIT (one that has only one HV terminal) and connect
the outer end of the flat secondary and the inside of the primary together and
to GND. If the primary is also a spiral then its HV end is as far away from
the secondary as possible.
