I've finally done a drawing of my simple 3 pipe gap and posted it

I think this is about the simplest static gap you can build that is
reasonably adjustable with just one movable part. With a small fan
blowing
on it, the sparks distribute nicely over the lengths of the tubes, and
it
runs very cool.
Next up.. I'm going to make it triggered..
