Its no more dangerous than,

Tablesaws
Cars
SUV's
Oxy/Acetylene torch
Arcwelders
Lawnmowers

The point is if you don't know what it is and don't know how to use it
and you willingly 
misuse it, then you are at fault not the person that sold it to you.
