If I were building it I'd use 1/4" space between
turns.  With a 7" inside diameter, you'll need 45 feet
of copper tube and your spiral will end up with an
outside diameter of 19.5 inches.  Why don't you get
yourself a copy of WinTesla.  Then you could design
any sort of primary you want in a few seconds.
