DC power supplies etc.

Given all the recent interest in DC power supplies, I have been
wondering what kinds of materials list
members will need. I have thought about selling Mots on ebay or on the
list, or even complete power supplies.
However, considering the fact that the transformers are readily available
and expensive to ship, I think that
energy storage capacitors and particularly diodes will be in higher demand.
And so I'd like to see who all would be interested in purchasing potted
diode strings for use in DC power
supplies. Ratings would be between 4kv and 25kv. I haven't established
prices yet, but rest assured they'd be
far, far lower than comparable stick diodes available currently. Mot
diodes have the distinct disadvantage of
being used and under-designed, and so in my opinion are not suitable for
tesla use. The diodes I will be using
will be 1 amp rated, and all of the strings will be 2X over-designed. All
who might be interested should e-mail
me at nolleym-at-willamette.edu.
For Chris Boden: you said you were interested in supplying a lot
of these components as well. Perhaps
if there is enough interest we could arrange something with
Cornell-Dubilier to provide at-cost filter
capacitors and diodes.
