Actually you can get a fair way without spending anything much at all. From
what I remember the only materials I bought for my first couple of coils was
glue and polyurethane. Everything else came from other peoples rubbish (old
TV sets, offcuts of timber and plastics etc). Sorry I remember I paid a
pound each for a couple of styrofoam donuts (hey I'm getting bi-lingual) for
the toroids, and about the same for a roll of aluminium tape.
