Hi Don,
          the page you refer to does not exist anymore.  If you go to the old 
http://www.fortunecity-dot-com/roswell/lovecraft/317/ site you will find that it 
links straight through to the new site.  The old tesla coil page has been 
there for a  bout a year unmodified and was written at a time when I ran the 
site jointly with another person.  It was not my work.  As the friend in 
question has since moved to Bristol I can't comment on the validity of any of 
his ideas.
I have also realised that I gave out the wrong url the new url is:
