A magnetron in operating mode acts as a nearly constant voltage drop to 
the power supply ... ie below operation range, nearly no current will 
folw, but above a certain point, I/V curve becomes very steep.
The magnetic shunts will be worked out to create a nice opposite sloping 
I/V curve in the power supply o/p to land nicely in the magnetrons 
desired operating range with a bit of room for current variations due to 
loading etc
