arc welder in series

Will a 220 amp arc welder in series with a 15 kva pig be able to give the
pig 60
amps??  Is there a simple formula?? I picked up 15 1500 watt oven elements,
and am
rigging them in a parrallel switch configuration (very time consuming).  Is
this
necessesary or should I just use my arc welder?  I've been hearing these
nightmare
stories about how resistive limiting is bad news.  Can some one fill me in
here?
