Secondary coil form material?
Hi, and thanks in advance, for any insight into the following:
1. The concensus from a few sites seems to be that PVC, while readily
available and inexpensive, does not offer the best
performance as a secondary coil form. Does anyone have any experience on
how significant coil form material really is? Is
polycarbonate significantly better? And,
2. Is achieving a given number of turns on the secondary, e.g., 1000,
more or less important than maintaining a given
winding length-to-diameter ratio? (I'll be using 22 AWG wire and a 6 in OD
tube).
Again, many thanks
