Cabbott,
The length of the coil will probably be the limiting factor. By
controlling (reducing) the breakdown voltage of the main gap and
controlling the power going to the primary of the pig (via ballast and
variac settings), you should be able to balance the voltage handling
capablity of the secondary to the power applied.
