You would need tens of MV to break 1/4" acrylic. Considering the bottom of
the secondary grounded, I see only serious possibility of arcing due to excess
voltage in the primary, at the inner side, if it is too close to the secondary,
or if a spark hits the shield and tracks its surface to the hole in the shield,
and from there to one of the coils.
A simple srike rail is probably enough.
