I built 2 transformers for my 2.5 kw coil and they work fine
The figures I saw in my studies regarding cross section of the core
referred to watts per square inch and didn't worry about flux per se.
200 watts per in. sq. is a reasonable figure to use. Another useful
figure is to assume .25v per in. sq. per turn. In my case the center post
on my cores were 5 in. sq. I used 120 t on the primary (.2v/t/in. sq)
and 8000t on each secondary. With the ballasting loss included I get
about 12kv with both transformers in series and well over 2kw total.
The transformers don't warm up at all during a typical run of 1/2 min.
Hope this helps.
