There is a small tesla coil in every T.I.G welder. There are industrial
painting devices that use high voltage( but no sparks) to help the paint
"stick". The aerospace egineers use tesla coils to fire lightning at their
designs to prove them out. Personally...I once found a dead mosquito on the
top of my coil after a run. Now thats about the best reason to have one
around...to kill mosquitos!!! Think about how many movies use tesla coils
and such..wouldn't it be nice to have a couple of hundred thousand bucks to
build a really big coil? I'm thinking about going deer hunting this year
with my new over-the-shoulder model. Come to think of it...I haven't seen
any elephants around either.
