No. My secondary is too big to haul to the lab for measurement purposes.
I am planning on making a small 4" coil for this very purpose. It will be a
while as my present work on the 1/2 MV crowbar switch will take a lot
of time away from coiling. When I can find a time window I would like to
do these measurements with a signal generator VS live running coil
to ascertain the effect if any of the corona (electron) sheath about the
coil on the live proximity effect.

|Have you found the Rac for any of your coils?

|I have a graph in one of my books that shows the effective resistance vs
|wattage for a typical Tesla coil. It is based on a Q factor graph in
|Terman's book and other information. This information was used to
|back-figure the Rac.

|The graph can then be used to estimate Rac at the design stage before a
coil
|is built. However, I have not had been able to verify this graph because I
|have not found coilers who make these tests and calculations.
