Steve they are high speed gas triode switches designed for low
microsecond/nanosecond switching in the high voltage, high current
range. Turn off, unfortunately, requires commutation of the circuit as
with all thyratrons.
They are good for single pop pulse devices. Normal TC operation with
these are out!
