The France neon transformer catalog that I have lists the INPUT V.A.
requirement (120 V primary) as 890 V.A. for a 15KV, 60 ma unit.
This is for a normal power factor unit.
This puzzles me, since the output of this unit should be
15KV x 60 ma. = 900 V.A. (watts). I would expect the input
power requirements to be about twice the output power rating,
due to transformer and heat losses. Can anyone explain the
apparent problem here?
Thanks,
Don Froula
