Bart,
You hit the reason that i "did" try the resistor right on the head!
I kept blowing triacs, i then heard our fearless moderator say he had
some pics of some nasty spiking*, "oh my goodness"! Marc looked at that
and said, "maybe i'll try the loading idea"?
Well i didn't like wasting all that current (30 amp only goes so far) so
i played around. After i put the resistor in line from the triacs output
i saw on my scope that there was far less trash getting back to the
unit, I used it!
I upped the triac current size just because i wanted too, it is in no
way a "MUST", just insurance (after all, those scope traces "scared me",
and this after many, many runs with the RAW circuit.
