I have been following this email thread closely as I seem to have the same
problem with a very similar set up.
My Tesla coil worked 3 years ago with a 10KV oil burner transformer.
Eventually the OBT died and I changed to a 15KV NST, at the same time I
increased the voltage rating of my MMC.
Since then I could never get it to work.
How critical is a shorted turn in the secondary and how can I diagnose that
problem?
